BOOK BODYART

BODYART’s educational programs introduce students to the basic concepts of dance, choreography, human movement and expression. The company is passionate about sharing their love of the art form, and extensive training in the arts with those who do not already have access to them. This program allows for a multi-faceted experience for all involved through master classes, residencies, lecture/demonstrations and choreographic workshops most often in conjunction with community or school performances.

Master Classes

Master classes provide opportunities for students to study with BODYART’s highly trained ensemble all of whom hold BFAs or higher, in dance and theatre, and teach at the elementary, high school, and University levels. For aspiring young artists, the experience of working with professional artists offers inspiration, motivation and important skill development.

Community Workshops

Through hands-on and accessible interaction with patrons and dance community members, BODYART integrates themselves with the surrounding community in several ways. These community workshops are often in conjunction with a performance.

Open Forum with the Company

Artistic Director, Leslie Scott and members of the company participate in an open Q&A with members of the community in audience pre/post performance. This enables the public to explore the background and ambitions of the company through the discussion of presented works.

Company Invitation

BODYART extends an invitation to local dance schools and companies to send a select number of students to attend a community class that is open to public viewing. This allows area dancers an opportunity to learn from professional dancers and be motivated to continue in the field of art.
